Giant TCR Advanced Pro Ultegra Di2 Carbon Disc Road Bike - ML 56cm

Giant TCR Advanced Pro Ultegra Di2 Carbon Disc Road Bike - ML 56cm

The TCR Advanced Pro range shares the same fundamental construction as the SL range save for 2 things : the Integrated seatpost and the carbon fibre used. While the SL frames and forks feature Torayca T800 fibre throughout, the Advanced Pro utilises the slightly lower modulus T700. Ultimately this means that the Advanced Pro range is marginally heavier and fractionally less stiff as a result. With that said, we are talking about low single-digit percentages and the average rider looking to start a racing career or simply the rider looking for a fast, agile road bike on which to mount a challenge on the club run, could do very much worse than the impressive Giant TCR Advanced Pros.

The Advanced Pro now features 35mm deep Tubeless ready Carbon SLR 1 wheel systems designed in conjunction with DT Swiss and the same Contact SL handlebar and stem. Saddles are also Contact SL across the board and are the Forward shape for a traditional race position. All sit on top of Giant's impressivley comfortable Variant carbon seatpost. This makes viewing the range pretty simple from a potential purchase perspective, since the only thing to consider is groupset and this will largely be dictated by budget - just beware of the notorious budget-creep - it's very easy to get drawn in by the TCR Advanced Pro range!

Giant employ a flat-mount caliper similar to Cannondale and this helps minimise weight on the frame. Unlike other brands though, rather than lengthen the chain and seat stays in order to house the new technology (less of an issue on endurance bikes), Giant have come up with a clever spacing option on the rear axle which allows for the additional space required but that does not interfere with the handling of the bike. In addition, Giant use their own disc-specific hubs and forks which neatly employ 12mm Thru-axle technology to maintain front end stiffness and sure-footed handling

The TCR Advanced Pro Disc will not leave you wanting. Supplied as it is with Shimano's Ultegra Di2 Electronic groupset and Giant's Disc-specific SLR 1 wheels, with braking in the form of the hydraulic discs; the specification means that there are no compromises and riders will experience complete confidence and control regardless of conditions.

For all-round road racers and riders, the TCR Advanced Pro offers a perfect balance of stiffness, light weight and smooth compliance. The Advanced grade T700 composite frame is light, but it still retains excellent stiffness. The OverDrive 2 steerer system which features a larger bottom bearing in the headset and the MegaDrive downtube, are engineered for precise handling.
